Scarlets have lost their last three games against Leinster, whilst the Irishmen have been victorious on their last two visits to Llanelli.
Scarlets will be hoping to repeat their start to last season's Magners League season where they defeated an Irish province by winning away from home in Ulster. The Welshmen concluded last campaign with a pair of back-to-back victories against Blues and Ulster.
Leinster have won just once in round one of the Magners League since 2003: 23-8 at home to Edinburgh in 2007. The reigning European champions only lost one of their eight encounters with the Welsh Regions in 2008/09: 9-18 at Dragons on 16 May.
